Russian music video!
Currently in Moscow to shoot a music video for Furs, a high fashion Russian music project. I’ve just been in Moscow once before, but I really love it here, it’s such an inspiring city. To take the escalator down the metro or to just walk around in the concrete suburbs is simply a beautiful experience. We shot the video this Saturday outside Moscow in an old typical Russian dacha. I was honored to work with the very talented and successful director Aleksander Bach, whom I now consider as a friend of mine. I got to know my beloved friend Masha Kulyabicheva in Barcelona 2009 and to finally work with her was great, it was just a strange feeling to give posing instructions to such a good friend! The producer, Anna Vinnik (amazing girl!), took care of all the logistic in the most professional way. A fun experience for me was to work with a russian crew. When you rent a camera or a lamp in Russia it also comes with a technical/security guy. You are simply not allowed to go the rental place and pick up the gear, you have to have these people with you. And since we shot outside Moscow the lightning dude also had to have a driver with him. So it was a lightning dude, a camera dude and a driver with us, but they were actually very helpful and easy-going.
Russia keeps giving me impressions that absolutely will change parts of my life, but what turn it will take I’m not to sure about. All I know is that six days in Russia could be enough to get another perspective on certain things.
The video was shot on Red Epic with Canon EF lenses.
